COST GUIDELINES

FULL SERVICE
2008 Costs are:   $85 per person per day, for 7 people or more. (Costs for 2009 are $95 per person, per day).
This option includes the following: Transportation, hotel, meals, accompaniment by a PRESGOV driver and vehicle, communication between you and the Guatemalans you’ll work with to plan and carry out your itinerary, support with evening devotions, one translator, and support in cross-cultural understanding and interpretation.  You have all our support in planning the trip, and you won’t need to bring money for any more costs other than personal shopping (unless listed below). The cost of tours, entrance fees and other excursions are the responsibility of the group and are not covered in the daily rate.
Payment Schedule: Full payment should be received in PRESGOV’s bank account one month prior to arrival.
To calculate number of days: To count the number of the days in the trip, we count since your arrival day to your departure day.
Flying into Flores: If you fly into Flores (whether or not you pass through Guatemala City), we charge an extra $250 because we have to spend an extra day to travel up and an extra day coming back from Flores.
Travelers from Guatemala: If you’d like to invite anyone along with your group who lives in Guatemala, the charge will be $40 per person per day for them.
Small groups: If your group has 5 or 6 people, in order to cover our costs we charge the normal daily fee for the number of people in your group, plus an extra $40 per day.  OPTION 2: TRANSPORTATION ONLY
Group of 1-8 people: Base rate of $85 per day or for any portion of the day (in a reliable but simple smaller van).
Group of 9-21 people: Base rate of $125 per day or for any portion of the day (in a vehicle with air conditioning for up to 12, or in a reliable but simple larger van for up to 21).
**Additionally, you pay for gas costs and for the driver’s meals and hotel expenses.  The driver’s meals need to be provided whether or not your group eats a full meal.
This option includes the following: A driver and vehicle to reliably pick you up and transport you according to your itinerary that you’ve provided us ahead of time and confirmed with staff.
Your responsibilities: With this option, you are responsible for having your own translator, contacting hotels, Guatemalan partners, and others to set up all aspects of your itinerary.
Timing: If you require the driver and van until late in a day and the van won’t be able to get back to Quetzaltenango before 7:30 pm that day, the driver will need to stay overnight with you and you’ll need to pay for the next day.
Payment: The per day base rate should be paid on the day of your arrival, by check made out to PRESGOV, and delivered to the driver.
If the group needs to cancel the trip, a full refund will be provided if the group cancels at least one month before the arrival date.  If the group cancels less than a month before the arrival date, PRESGOV will charge $100 to cover the planning costs incurred.
